Landscape in Nepal

Millions of Nepali find themselves displaced, enslaved, or unemployed as a result of a depressed economy. With a 40% unemployment rate, many in Nepal are searching for ways of survival. They are easy targets for exploitation; promised opportunities for jobs, education, and a better life quickly turn into slavery.

Souls creates job opportunities which in turn alleviates poverty and reduces the risk of human trafficking. Creating ethical jobs gives people an opportunity to provide for themselves and their families with dignity and hope. It contributes financially to local communities and ultimately promotes overall economic development in their country.

The founders of Souls felt compelled to move their family to Nepal to start a sustainable business. A factory was built from the ground up with the help of paid local workers. A shoe manufacturing company was started, creating ethical jobs for over a dozen people who previously had no work. Thousands of people have been positively affected from just a few ethical jobs.

All of this change is proof of what can be accomplished by creating healthy employment opportunities in a country starving for resources.
